Dec. 5th, 2003

A big snowstorm is absolutely not acceptable. I need to drive to Pennsylvania in the morning.

Snow is pretty. So are icicles. With all the Christmas decorations going up, I want to see some snow.
Lucky you.

I would have been much happier with it hitting today, and having the weekend to do stuff that I've been putting off. Snow is pretty, but not to drive in : )

yeah. I hate driving in snow. I'd recommend putting off whatever you can so that you don't have to drive in the snow. Maybe you can do some of it tonight after work or during your lunch hour?

Another reason I'm very glad my current apartment is in walking distance to a train station. :)

I live near the bus station, but the buses never go where I am going...

Me and D have made a "bus date," though. I’m not familiar with using public transportation. So he’s going to get a hardcopy bus schedule (he usually just uses the computer one). We’re going to pick some “date” places to go that are on the bus route. Then we’ll spend the day wandering the city using just the bus and our feet (we’ll buy an all-day pass). I get used to the system. We get to spend time with our sweethearts. And, at least theoretically, we get to go to some fun places!

That's a great idea. :)

The train takes me into NYC, which is generally the only place I'd want to go. :)

The train doesn’t go anyplace else interesting? Say, to Boston so that you can visit with turtle_morn? *grins* Or, um, is it buffalo where the long left name lives? (Ok, ok, so I can never get the full thing right, but I know it when I see it. It’s long and odd and I think there’s a deltoid in it).

Not directly. The train to Boston (and turtlemorn) leaves from NYC (though I can drive to Stamford and get there quicker), the train to buffalo(and leftsphenoid) (if such a think existed, I don't know) would also leave from NYC. I could go to Bedford if my parents still lived there, but they don't. Or Wassaic, if I wanted to visit cows. But really, it's the easy access to NYC that I like. :)

Well, you should always act in ways that make yourself proud to be you.

Has collacentaur gotten all these messages back and forth between us in her LJ, or does she only get the “initial” comments?

And now that I think about it, why’s she called collacentaur?

You're right, I should.

Yes, she has (unless she turned them off, which I think you can do).

Because her name is colla, and she's a centaur.

Ok, a centaur is a beast, but how did she choose the name colla?

Yes I do.

Collacentaur is because of my MUD character, Colla the centaur bard. While I was still at Drew I made a yahoo account colla_centaur just for MUD purposes. Then when I left Drew and lost that email address, yahoo became my primary. I continue to use the name 1) out of habit and 2) because it's always available. But I dropped out the underscore at some point because it's confusing and not all places let me use it.

Had you forgotten that it always snows on December 5th? I made a wish when I was 4 that just keeps coming true.
