To Someone Unknown

Dear Anonymous:

On a very dark day, nearly two years ago, you left a comment in my journal that made a world of difference to my outlook.

I do not know who you are, or whether you read my journal more than just that once, or if you still do. All I know is that from what you said, you are not one of my college friends. However, for almost two years, I have wondered in idle moments just who you are, and why you took the time to give me that breath of hope.

If you're still reading, I just want you to know that it meant a great deal to me at the time, and I still appreciate it now. Thank you for being compassionate, and for being a mystery and a much-needed distraction.
