New Year

Welcome to 2009.

New Year's Eve was a quiet gathering this year; just a few of my nearest and dearest (emphasis on nearest, as it happens). The big gathering was New Year's Day. I think that worked out better, really. I usually find New Year's Eve to be horribly depressing, and sneak off to a corner to think too much and make myself miserable. With only a few people, I didn't feel so alone.

My office was closed on both December 26 and January 2. I've had enough time off in the last couple weeks that I'm even relaxing a little. Today feels like Sunday, so having tomorrow will be nice - although I'm starting to feel edgy about not doing anything.

Christmas was good. Nothing spectacular one way or another.
