I haven't done any real writing in ages. It takes time, inspiration, energy and focus. While I often have one or two, all four haven't lined up for me.

I've been doing plenty of thinking, as always. Today, I contemplated the continuum of writing including fanfiction, authorized sequels, media tie-ins, shared worlds, and collaborations. Yesterday it was sin, guilt, forgiveness, penance, confession and absolution, and reasons why I as a ritualist sometimes envy the Catholics. (No connection with my personal life, I just find this stuff interesting.) Over the weekend, it was librarians I have known, book recommendations, and my dad's guidance through his F&SF collection, and how that probably shaped my social politics and moral compass more profoundly than I realized at the time.

All of those things, and other topics-of-the-day, deserve much better than a slapdash wrap-up-the-day post.

The good news is that since I'm rarely musing on current events at length, the thoughts and ideas don't expire. Some day they'll come back around when I'm better prepared to express myself.
