It is now Christmas. By eighteen minutes, or so says my computer.

I just got home from looking at Christmas lights with my co-worker's family. We all piled in the minivan and drove around for an hour and a half. Of course, it was a little late to go looking, since a lot of people turn them off at bedtime. But there were enough to be pretty.

It was definitely a little different from looking at Christmas lights with my mom on the way home from church. Very different music, for one thing.

I can almost believe it's Christmas, though. I gave presents to the kids. Ginny and her mom gave presents to me. We all sang Christmas songs along with the radio - I say songs rather than carols, because of the radio stations involved.

Tomorrow, I sleep late, first of all. Then I clean until I feel the place is fit to show my parents. And do laundry, and ironing, and so forth and so on. Not very holiday-ish, perhaps, but having a clean house at the end of it will be one hell of a present. This time tomorrow, I need to be at Newark Airport waiting for Jeff's plane. I will need to be less sleepy.

Merry Christmas, everyone. It's a beautiful day, right now. May it remain so.

It is so much more fun to be obsessing over how best to clean mouse pee off My Little Ponies instead of what the surgeon will say tomorrow.
