And now, the eternal question: will we get to leave early, because it's a holiday weekend? Or will be working late, because we won't be in on Monday?

It's clear to me that I spend way too much time in long skirts. When going upstairs, I pick up my pants so I don't trip over the hem. Of course, this could be because in my size, even a petite still has too long a leg length. I do not understand the clothing industry, where someone who is 5'7" and of ordinary, if large, proportions, can be described not only as petite, but too short for petite.

I ended up in a comment-conversation yesterday with nemo_wistar, of all people (for those who don't know: an old acquaintance-but-not-friend, who I haven't talked to in years, although we have friends in common). Next I'll be finding online and chatting with people I knew in high school...

And, in my strangest moment ever: I washed my hair while home on my lunch break.

Lunchtime hair washing is NOT your strangest moment ever. It isn't even your strangest hair related moment ever.

But I don't think bad dye jobs are that strange, especially for college kids. Or were you thinking of something different?

Unfortunate, yes. But strange?

I would say lunchtime hair washing for the 20-something professional is no weirder than bad dye jobs for the college students.

Quite likely more so; I knew what I was doing.

*laugh* As a good thing or a bad thing?

I must say, it's the best set of anonymous comments I managed...

You might get to leave early because of the holiday weekend!?! Wow.

Hopefully no on the working late.

Your height is so not petite. I'm still trying to figure out why a woman who wears size 16 pants is expected to have a waist the same size as her hips...

I'm still trying to figure out why ANY woman is expected to have a waist the same size as her hips.

Plenty do, of course. But my waist is one of my few good features... and I really dislike wearing belts.

On the pants -- I think it's a recent thing. I don't recall always having this problem. But I definitely agree and register my objection.

It's been 3-4 years for me, I just don't gripe about it all the time.

I thought it was just Target, until this last pair...

My target jeans I bought average and they were slightly long. Now I'm buying petite and they are about right

I found that low-rise pants/jeans solved the problem quite nicely for me : ) things tend to be a little long in leg still, but at least the hip to waist proportioning isn't a problem..

Holiday weekend? There is such a thing?

I guess I can't complain since I'm getting holiday pay for working today. Sometimes it's very nice to be hourly instead of salary.
