Ten things to do in the next 22.5 hours

Before gaming tomorrow, I must do all of the following:

1. Stick clothes and everything else I need for the weekend, including my dice, in a bag.
2. Drive to PA.
3. Eat dinner.
4. Spend at least one hour, maybe longer, of uninterrupted quality time alone with my computer.
5. Sleep for at least 7 hours, more if possible.
6. Shower.
7. Go to post office and buy stamps.
8. Go to grocery store and buy whatever I agreed to bring.
9. Eat lunch.
10. Take enough painkillers to sit through a gaming session.

Painkillers? Did I miss something somewhere?

Nope, just getting old. Can't sit in straight chairs at a table for 6-8 hours at a time, without hurting. Although, in truth, I'm not sure I ever could.

No one should ever sit for 6-8 hours at a time ever! My doctor said that I need to stand up and walk away for at least five minutes once per hour, or I'll be in accute agony. He's right, too.

Exactly. At work I usually manage to get up every 45 minutes or so - and if I don't, I generally have Advil later in the day. I don't have the kind of pain that sent you to the doctors, but I'd like to keep it that way.

However, when doing something I like, I often forget about that, and stay put for too long, until it starts to go OW. So, premedication.

On the other hand, I've been treating the (presumed) arthritis since the nicer weather blew in overnight, so I may be medicating anyway.

The problem is that even if you're medicating it, you're still causing stress to the spot. I actually ended up setting a watch for a while because after I stopped feeling pain (isn't ibuprofen yummy ;-) I stopped getting up, and pain began anew. Oy, it's a visicous cycle, this getting older thing - I still have a hard time remembering not to sit on my feet! Ohhh, I miss sitting on my feet for hours on end blithely typing away without a worry in the world or a pain in the back!
